| Being an occasionally curious creature, I often like to ask questions about people's backgrounds and thoughts and whatnot. That being said, my current interest lies in religion and faith. Considering some conversations (that have had the misfortune of getting heated) in the past, I'm rather curious as to how many people I can offend on a daily basis based off of what they believe. On a serious note, I am curious was to what all of you believe, in part, if for any reason, so that I know who and what I have to be a little more cautious with (something that could probably benefit all of us).
Keep in mind, this is just meant to be an informative topic, a simple declaration of what you believe or don't believe. No flaming, aggravating or insulting people over what they believe. I presume you're all mature enough to handle a simple comment on yourself and no one else. Now, say if your reasoning involves perhaps saying religion is silly or somesuch, that's fine, but no attacking specific religions or the beliefs of a particular member. If you genuinely have a beef with what someone else believes, get over it. I don't want to hear that this topic caused you to whine to an officer about how such and such was mean to you. If things get out of hand, this will just be deleted and my opinion of the lot of you will sink very low. However, I am interested in seeing honest comments and a clean, informative...list, I guess. Try not to ruin it. ^^

| Seeing as I'm not cruel enough to subject the lot of you to a potentially risky conversation topic without diving in first myself...
I personally am a born-again evangelical Christian. Though admittedly I'm a little weak on the evangelizing part. I started off as one of those...generic Christian types, who just believes without knowing what they truly should believe or don't realize what it implies. A lot of my faith was sprinkled in with secular beliefs that were incompatible with the Bible. That changed about eight years ago. The end result is that I tend to understand why people believe what they do, even if clashes with my own personal beliefs.
Final note: There's no need for biographical information. I just wanted to share that. In part to kind of give people a reason to trust that my personal motivations for asking this aren't malicious or anything. I can understand why people choose to be Christians, Muslims, Jews or atheists and while I may disagree with most belief systems outside of a Judeo-Christian orthodoxy you can still believe whatever you want and be fine in my book.

| I had to concider removing this, but it`d be a shame really. Religion is a veeery touchy subject for most people, and I usually dont....handle that properly. Once I got a priest to punch me in the face, thats how well I generally handle religious debates.
Personally I`m an atheist. Emma is aswell.

| Probably Athiest, though I was brought up in an incredibly religious family for the most part. I guess I hope some omnipotent, omniscient being is safeguarding us from some ethereal realm, but as a rational human being, I find that unfortunately difficult to believe. I also think people look for religion more when they need hope, more than out of belief for the idea. It's a comfort, more than a reality, in my opinion, though that's not to say on any level that there is no reality on religion, just in my opinion it's farfetched. You're more than welcome to believe what you choose, it's part of what makes us who we are as individuals I guess.
Side note: Reviving dead topics once again, ftw.
